Originally from Scotland and educated in Edinburgh, I served my apprenticeship as a Diesel fitter and trained in sales and marketing in my father’s family engineering business.

I moved to Cumbria in 1987, where I was employed in Financial Services until ill health forced a change in my career.

Whilst receiving training from an experienced chair reseater, I started my business in Cumbria reseating chairs, stools and couches in cane, rush, seagrass etc.  This led me to train in repairing Lloyd Loom furniture.
